Qual Levels

Qualification Levels

Member's track their experience at two levels: Qual Levels (Team Wide Baselines of Shared Skills) and Tool Specific Skill Levels, which demonstrates familiarity with specific tools/methods

Qual Level: 1

Qual Level 1 is the Baseline skillset for the team. The intent behind this skill level is to give new members an idea of what every hacker on the team is expected to be capable of. This skill level is designed to be easily obtained personally, without help from other members. Entry level pen-test certifications and/or extensive "Google-Fu" skills are the sufficient pre-requisites.

  • TOOL SPECIFIC SKILL LEVELS

These levels are annotated on each individual members profile under the "Tool Proficiency" Section. This is intended to allow Team Members to seek out help and to track progression of fellow members. It also allows for intelligent task division during future comptitive environments, where a Team Lead can familiarize themselves with their member's proficiencies and then task the members already highly proficient in a specific Tool with employing it under time-senstive conditions

      Levels:

  • Level 1: Familiar with Tool, associated vulnerability, and can explain it's use case from memory
  • Level 2: Has utilized the Tool successfully in a lab environment/VM controlled by the member
  • Level 3: Has utilized the Tool successfully in a lab envrionment/VM that is pre-configured by someone else and is not designed specifically for testing the Tool
  • Level 4: Has utilized the Tool successfully in a certification exam or competitive envrionment such as a CTF
  • Level 5: Has achieved Level 4 proficiency and has declared through multiple iterations and practice that they are able to teach other member's the Tools usages, and can execute the tool in a competitive environment without the aid of external guides, tutorials, or needing to spend time on a Search Engine
